What are your writing qualifications?

In addition to writing in the context of my previous business experience, I am an AWAI (American Writers and Artists Inc.) verified copywriter with training in:

  • Desktop Marketing.
  • Internet Research.

Do you have experience in the outdoor recreation industry?

I am a born and bred “Bush boy” and have spent most of my life in the outdoors in southern Africa. I grew up with a passion for the outdoors and have spent almost 30 years in various outdoor endeavors from farming to safaris. I am a keen outdoorsman, interested in a wide range of outdoor activities from hiking and camping to off road 4×4 expedition travel. I have had the privilege of pursuing these passions in places as diverse as southern Africa, New Zealand, Australia, Afghanistan and the United States. Read more about me in my Bio.

Having said that, I do not limit myself to writing exclusively for the outdoor recreation industry.

What kind of assignments can you do?

While I can undertake a wide variety of direct response copywriting projects, my core specialty is online content marketing. This includes long and short copy emails, eNewsletters, Email Autoresponder series as well as Web Copy.

I have a particular interest in relationship building and content marketing copy focuses on this. While the sale is all-important to your bottom line, the relationship that helps a prospect know, like and trust you enough to part with their hard earned money is essential. In addition, it can encourage customers to not only keep coming back for more, but turn them into long term and enthusiastic advocates for your brand.

What about long-distance clients?

Not a problem. Mostly I never meet my clients face to face. We can accomplish all we need to on a project with phone, email and Skype.

Do you offer consulting services?

Yes. In addition to writing compelling copy, I have many years of hands-on business management experience. Along with study of the marketing process, this enables me to provide valuable input about how copy can be used to maximum effect in your overall marketing process and strategy and so improve your profitability.

How long will it take to write my copy?

This will depend on the project involved. In initial discussions, deadlines will be discussed and I will do my best to accommodate your timeline. As a rough indication, shorter projects such as a short copy email will typically take 3 – 5 business days to produce the first draft, while long copy could take 2 – 3 weeks or longer. Again, this will depend entirely on the individual project. The research requirement for example, is one factor that can significantly impact the timeline.

What about revisions?

I pride myself on producing top quality copy with little need for major adjustments. However, I also realize that expecting a “Bull’s eye” on the first shot every time is unrealistic. I will undertake to do whatever revisions necessary within the given timeline until you are satisfied with the result. Also, this applies at no extra charge as long as there is no change to the original work order. If there are changes, the cost will be adjusted accordingly.

What do you charge for your services?

There is no short answer as there are many variables impacting the final cost.  I have given base line fees for the core services I offer on my Services page. A more accurate figure can be provided after consultation.

What about a guarantee?

I guarantee to write copy to your complete satisfaction. If you are not 100 percent satisfied, I will revise the copy according to your specific guidelines… and at no additional cost as specified under the question about revisions.

However, I do not guarantee a particular result or response rate. The Direct Marketing Association Code of ethics prohibits such a guarantee. This is so because there are many factors I cannot control in your marketing such as – product, market, price, list, demand, consumer preferences, the economy, the stock market, and other major events.
